Are there any good cars I could get for the quote above?
I'm just asking since my mom wants to get me a Tata Indica which is R90000 and I pretty much hate that car so I want to know if there are better cars for that price range?
Note: I'm looking for car that's comfortable to drive in, especially for a tall person like myself. Speed doesn't really matter to me at this stage and aesthetics don't matter much either.

Now that that is out of the way, are you looking for new or second hand?
Depending on the quality of the car. Like if I find a second-hand GTI from 2004-2009 for less than R100K I'd definitely get it.

No but seriously, 80-100k budget for your first car is fucking decent. It's easy to find cars which are nice and amazingly cheap but you'll be buying a rebuild. When it comes to cars, if the price seems too good to be true, it usually is... Sure everyone gets lucky/good deals here and there but don't count on it.
I was looking for a Opel corsa lite about a year ago and I wanted to spend no more than 55k on it, and I saw a lot of ones in good condition for +-65k and then I saw a few for about 50k from all different places ofc. All the ones which were 55k or less were fucked.. You could see they were repainted etc. Or like a 2008 model with 120 000km... Htf is that even possible. But anyway, pick something reasonable, which is in good condition where you won't have problems in the future.
You'd much rather have an uglier car which is reliable than a nice looking car that's a rite off and rebuilt. You'll have endless problems.
PS. In the end I managed to get an Opel Corsa 1.4 Club 5 door hatch back. It cost a bit more but it had very good mileage and it seemed like it would last longer and it had airbags which put a smile on my moms face. I'm sure you're parents will pay a bit more for something in good condition and is safer for you. If they max budget was 100k they woulda probably said you may spend 60-80k.
Sad thing is, my cars already in crap condition on the body and interior, carting around friends etc. Things just start falling apart. If you wanna keep your car in good condition, don't let drunk friends in your car or sleep in your car. T_T

But a really smart person would pocket the R90k, steal a car, show it to their parents, then sell it, then say it was stolen and claim from insurance?
Leave no traces back to you obviously, sell it to some gangsta kids in the hood for cheap and tell them it's stolen, they don't care.

firstly- you don't need a drivers to own/purchase a car in SA
secondly, he's not 18 yet.
He's madmike_2010_ coz he's matriculating this year, which was forseen for years, so we can assume he's turning 18 this year
chances are 98.033% (349/356) that he's not 18 yet
